LEVEL 1 SKILLS

Basic skills:
• back walk over
• front walk over
• cartwheel
• round off
• Jumps such as Toe Touch, Hurdler and Pike

-All of these skills must be performed with straight legs and pointed toes
– Landing with feet together after every skill is a bonus

Advanced Skills
• Connect multiple skills:
– Round off Backwalkover
– Cartwheel Backwalkover
– Front walk over roundoff back walkover

• Different variations of basic skills is a must to be able to perform and participate in elite passes
• Be able to perform a sequence of jumps (3-4) and land with feet together followed by a back walk over

LEVEL 2 SKILLS

Basic Skills:
• Standing back handspring
• Back walk over back handspring
• roundoff back handspring
• Back walkover
• Front walkover
-Skills should be performed with legs together and straight
-Landings from these skills should be with feet together
-Toes must be pointed during the entire skill
* skills must be able to be performed during mild to moderate endurance training.

Advanced Skills:
• Round off series. Preferably three or more with required technique
• Back handspring step out to a front or back walk over
• Connecting basic skills in multiple variations
• Front walkover roundoff series
• Straight jump back handspring
-All skills must follow the technique listed above

LEVEL 3 SKILLS

Basic Skills:
• standing three or more back handsprings
• Jumps such as toe touch, hurdler and pike
• round off back handspring tuck
• round off tuck
-Skills must be performed with straight legs and pointed toes
-feet must land together
-tucks must be performed with good body positions. Riding those tucks high with a tight rotation and a solid landing

Advanced Skills:
• jump sequence (usually 4 jumps) to multiple back handsprings (2-3)
• front walk over round off multiple back hand springs to a tuck
• punch front forward roll round off tuck/back handsprings to a tuck
• skils must be performed consistently with moderate to high endurance training.
* endurance training should consist of cardio to get their heart racing. This is to ensure that skills will be able to be performed during a high impact routine which lasts about 2 minutes and 30
seconds.

LEVEL 4 SKILLS

Basic Skills:
• standing tuck
• jumps such as toe touch, hurdler and pike
• standing back handspring tuck
• round off back handspring layout
• standing 2-3 back handsprings to a layout
– tucks must be performed with proper technique. Shoulders and head must ride to the top while knees and hips rotate over staying in a tight body position. Solid landings are a must.
– layouts must be performed in a hollow bod position with legs straight and toes pointed.

Advanced skills:
• Multiple standing tucks must be correctly performed.
• multiple jumps to a back handspring tuck with solid landing
– jumps must be average or above average to correctly perform this skill
• punch front step out roundoff series to a layout will put you in the specialty pass range but is not required.
• front walk over roundoff series to a layout is a must.
– front walk over must be executed with straight legs and pointed toes.
• standing back handspring whip through to back handspring layout will bump you to specialty pass range.
* we encourage each athlete to aim towards the specialty pass range to help the overall team performance.
* skills must be able to be performed during high endurance training.

LEVEL 5 RESTRICTED SKILLS:

Basic Skills:
• standing back tuck
• standing multiple back handsprings to a full
• round off back handspring full
• jumps such as toe touch, hurdler and pike
– we encourage athletes to perfect their layout technique before advancing to a full
– full must be performed with a hollow body position, clean rotaion, straight legs and solid clean landing.

Advanced Skills:
• Multiple jumps to a back tuck with a solid landing
• punch front round off multiple back hand springs to a tuck would put you in specialty pass
range but is not required.
• variety of front tumbling to a round off back handspring full

In order to properly perform these skills we encourage all athletes to be able to perform these skills under high intense endurance training to ensure that skills can be completely during an entire routine.

A. We encourage all of our athletes to enroll in our classes in which they need extra help in. This will help them to perfect their skills and advance them to the next level.

B. We strongly believe that proper progressions in tumbling should be taken and need to be before advancing to the next skill to ensure safety.
